Introducing the Platinum Club Martini
Sep. 30, 2015
Introducing the Platinum Club Martini, crafted by Patrón Mixologist, David Alan. This simple and classically inspired cocktail showcases the elegant, nuanced flavor of Gran Patrón Platinum. Martinis are typically made with Gin, and were concocted more than a hundred years ago. However, the structure of a classic Martini is the perfect way to highlight the flavors of Gran Patrón Platinum without overshadowing the tequila.
“I wanted to make a simple, classically inspired cocktail that would showcase the elegant, nuanced flavor of Gran Patrón Platinum. Gran Patrón Platinum is the most delicate spirit we make, and it is easily overpowered by strong flavors, so it was essential to keep it simple--in this case, it doesn't get any more simple than a two ingredient cocktail,” Alan shared.
This perfect Patrón cocktail is almost as impossibly simple as it is elegant and refined. It highlights the delicate citrus and peppery notes in Gran Patrón Platinum. The Martini & Rossi Bianco Vermouth was selected for its off-dry slight sweetness, balancing the tequila nicely without being overpowering. The classic cocktail is topped with a thin slice of cucumber, providing an aromatic component to the drink and dials up the vegetal notes in the vermouth.
