A Year in Perfection

After ringing in the new year in true 1-Liter style, Patrón kicked off a year that set the bar high for 2018. Big cocktail winners, new takes on classic tequila, a summer strut across this margarita-loving country and pure holiday fun have come to define 2017 as a simply perfect year. 

The Coralina was Crowned

2017 brought with it the third annual search for  The Margarita of the Year, shining a light on big global flavor pairings that had the power to compete for the title. Votes poured in from around the world and across all social media platforms to decide which margarita would be the people’s favorite. Taking home the title was the red wine and hibiscus-infused  Coralina Margarita from Mexico City’s Riesler Morales. The deep, floral flavors beat out other contenders, including fellow finalists, the  English Garden Margarita and  High Plains Margarita.

A Spirit Released

Master filmmaker with an eye for eerie horror, Guillermo del Toro, brought his mind to the Hacienda to create the perfect pairing of tequila and scary style in  Patrón x Guillermo del Toro. The experience combined a sublime blend of extra añejo tequilas in one bottle and an aged orange liqueur in a second, smaller bottle to create a skeleton that was displayed upside down in the hand-illustrated altar of a box. Patrón and del Toro’s shared home of Jalisco and the culture of Mexico inspired every ounce of the exclusive product that  brought many over to the dark side.  

The Summer: Patrón-ed

Data drove us to drink locally-inspired cocktails across the country all summer 2017 long for  Patrón the Summer. Cocktail Lab hit the road to tour 21 cities around the United States and across the pond, serving up Patrón-perfect variations on the cocktails their city loves the best based on 3 years of flavor trend data from millions of cocktail lovers on Foursquare and social media. Many more cities felt the spirit of the summer too, like the party-ready  Lakeside Sangria for Ann Arbor, MI, with data-driven cocktails served up at PatrontheSummer.com.

Multi-faceted Mastery

The masters of French crystal at Lalique partnered with Patrón for a second time to produce another exceptionally exclusive bottle of tequila and crystal perfection,  Patrón en Lalique: Serie 2. Art Deco design, hand-carved & gilded bees and exquisitely aged extra añejo tequila came together in a sleek wooden box to be the product on everyone’s lips and only the best bar carts this past fall.

Perfection Spreads Around the World

The  Perfectionists cocktail competition took tequila to new global heights in 2017. 6 bartenders from each of the 17 competing countries fought it out behind the bar to win the opportunity or representing their home in the global final taking place at Hacienda Patrón in 2018. Simply perfect cocktails have been taking the regional titles with appearance, originality, style and big flavors being considered in every pour by the expert judges. Who will take home the crown?
