Shintaro Okamoto and his father—the founding duo behind New York’s Okamoto Studio—have literally transformed the science of making ice into actual works of art. From life-size bars and ice sculptures to custom cocktail cubes, they mold “dead clear ice” into a full spectrum of frozen masterpieces. It’s a process that, like Patrón’s, is remarkably handcrafted.
“It makes most sense to work with brands like Patrón,” Okamoto explains. “When it's a premium liquor, you know they will ask themselves: Why would you dilute that with conventional ice?"
