Take a Deep-Dish Dive into Chicago’s Food Scene with Secret Dining Society
Oct. 19, 2016
When you think of Chicago, you might conjure up images of deep-dish pizza and loaded hot dogs, but the city’s food scene has evolved way past its greasy, carbo-turbocharged rap. With dive-y cheap eats and impossible-to-get-into Michelin-starred tasting dens, the Windy City has become a veritable dining destination. Today it’s one of the most versatile and sought-after places to eat in the country.
When chef Sarah Grueneberg plated her eclectic dishes for Patrón’s Secret Dining Society event in Chicago, she sought inspiration from the city’s vibrant culinary scene.
“Chicago really wraps its arms around young culinarians,” Grueneberg says. “The people who live here want to eat out—they want to see and taste what the chefs are doing.”
Paired with locally inspired cocktails by Lisa Selman, Grueneberg’s thoughtful, inventive fare contributed to an all-out splendid evening and underscored what rabid dining obsessives already know: Chicago’s a culinary force to be reckoned with. Watch the video to get an exclusive look inside.
