The France Perfectionist, Brice Martaud from Le Dandy, knows that drinks are best served up with a performance. At the 2016 Perfectionist competition in Paris, Brice presented his home-grown cocktail with dramatic pours and beautiful garnish flourishes. His flavors brought the drama too because where most cocktails take a turn for sweet, Brice went savory. His perfect drink brought together homey, earthy flavors through aromatic bitters, corn-infused syrup and an infusion of bitter cocoa and deep, acidic Shrub of Pepper. Congratulations, Brice! Your savory take on a perfect cocktail doesn’t make the win any less sweet.
Pimiento Goloso
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- .5 oz Martini bitter
- 1 oz Homemade shrub of pepper infused with coca beans
- .75 oz Homemade sugar syrup infused with corn
Shake, then double filter over carved ball of ice in a rocks glass.
