3 Cocktails That Prove Salt Rims Aren’t Just for Margaritas
Jul. 29, 2016
Salt is a chameleon: It gets rid of bad juju (just toss it over your shoulder), is used as a garnish and ultimately makes everything taste better. So it should really be no surprise that the ubiquitous mineral—condiment, ingredient, whatever you want to call it—works well not only on margaritas but on other libations, too. Here are three tequila cocktails that taste even more perfect with a salt rim.

- 3 oz Fresh grapefruit juice
- .5 oz Agave syrup (1:1)
- .5 oz Fresh-squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz Sparkling water
- Sugar and salt for rimming
- Grapefruit wedge for garnish
Combine all ingredients except sparkling water in a shaker tin and shake with ice to chill. Strain onto fresh ice in a sugar and salt rimmed collins glass. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
