Summer’s 6 Best Tequila Garnishes
Jul. 12, 2016
Limes, lemons and olives are all fantastic, but a truly exemplary cocktail deserves a truly exemplary little something to make it stand out. Let’s face it: With drinks, as with outfits, you’ve gotta dress to impress.
These six garnishes will ensure your summer libations are always ready for showtime, and they’ll encourage you, the home mixologist extraordinaire, to think outside the, uh, limes.
Orange Peel
The best part about an orange peel? Not only does it look elegant, it pairs well with a wide range of beverages, from tiki-style cocktails to more traditional classics, like the Old Fashioned.
Grapefruit
The paloma is popular for a reason: Tequila pairs beautifully with the tangy, floral notes of pink grapefruit. The citrus fruit can also be used for cocktails like the Tahona Smash and Starlight Sangria.
Pineapple
What’s summertime without a fresh pineapple? This fruit is far more versatile than it seems, adding a hint of sweetness and freshness (not to mention, the perfect tropical look!) to your cocktails. It’s a must-pair with Pyrat Punch and a Patrón Colada.
Jalapeño
Add even more heat to your margarita with fresh jalapeño on the rim (or in!) your glass. Try also adding it to our strawberry-infused Fresas en Fuego.
Cucumber
A thinly sliced cucumber is both a flavorful and instant refresher to almost any cocktail. Paired with a sage leaf, it’s the perfect natural coolant to our Silver Sage.
Rosemary Sprig
This rustic and flavorful fresh herb is a triple threat when used in a cocktail. Like in our Rosemary Wreath, just one sprig adds savory flavor, makes the cocktail even more aesthetically pleasing and can be used as an edible stir stick.
