How have limes been used with tequila?
Tequila and limes go way back before the days of premium tequila. The lime was used to mask the strong, often unpleasant flavor of low-quality tequila while doing shots.
Typically, a dash of salt would be placed on the tongue before the tequila shot. Then the shot would be quickly followed with a bite from a lime wedge.
Nowadays, premium tequila made with 100% Weber Blue Agave is a refined spirit with complex flavors and a smooth finish. No need for the lime. Patrón ultra-premium tequila is perfect for sipping on its own or as part of a delightful cocktail.
