Handcrafting Tequila for a Better Tomorrow
We have a steadfast commitment to crafting the world's finest tequila, and we're just as dedicated to taking care of the people and the land that make it possible.
from soil to serve for a better tomorrow
PATRÓN Tequila has always combined the best of handcrafted methods with modern solutions to achieve the world's finest tequila. But our dedication to perfection extends beyond our craft of tequila-making. We are committed to honoring our tradition whilst taking action to reduce our impact and to take stewardship of our land, water and people.
Conserving Water for a Better Tomorrow
Water is essential for tequila production, impacting agave growth and distillation, but it's also vital for our world. That's why PATRÓN Tequila is focused on our water stewardship strategy to reduce, reuse and replenish water.
Pledging to Protect and Conserve
-
100%
We are committed to reusing 100% of the water that is permissible by 2030.
-
50%
We will continue to improve water efficiencies to reduce our consumption by 25% by 2026 and 50% by 2030 (vs. 2023).
-
125 Hectares
Since 2020, we’ve partnered with the Charco Bendito project to tackle water challenges in Jalisco. So far, 125 hectares of land have been restored to improve the region’s water quality.
Partnering for Water Accessibility
The Charco Bendito, the innovative watershed collaboration, has already planted 53,000 trees—with a projection of 150,000 planted trees by 2028 in the Lerma-Santiago River Basin—to support water basin projects in Mexico. The goal is to restore 330 hectares of land in the Jalisco region by 2028. Together with Charco Bendito, we have worked with municipalities and industry partners to improve water accessibility, quality and availability for local Mexican communities because we understand how precious water is to our world.
Protecting the Land to Secure a Better Tomorrow
The terroir of Jalisco is an essential ingredient in our production. That's why PATRÓN Tequila takes concerted actions to protect and honor our land.
Making Strides in Land Conservation
-
5,500 Tons
We produce an average of 5,500 tons of fertilizer compost annually, created from leftover agave fibers.
- We upcycle, recycle or reuse the majority of our waste
-
No Plastic
We have eliminated plastic from all secondary packaging since the start of 2024.
Leading the way on sustainable farming with our agave growers
PATRÓN is leading the way as the first tequila brand to help its agave farmers achieve GLOBALG.A.P. certification for agave farming. The GLOBALG.A.P certificate for the Crops for Processing (CfP) standard recognizes our commitment to helping the agave farmers we work with implement safer and more sustainable farming practices. PATRÓN employs 21 dedicated agronomists who work closely with the agave farmers, offering training, conducting internal audits, teaching first aid, and promoting overall wellness.
-
From soil management and conservation to promoting the farmers' safety and wellbeing, we are committed to playing our part to help protect agave—from the soil it grows in to those who help grow it.
-
GLOBALG.A.P. standards are among the most respected and internationally recognized criterion that support the global trade of farmed products. There are nearly 200,000 certified producers around the world.
-
To date, 91% of the agave farmers supplying PATRÓN Tequila have received their GLOBALG.A.P CfP certification.
